So you want to play soccer and you don't just want to play soccer anywhere, you want to play the best soccer. Well, look no further. Vernon Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) is the place where Vernon's best play. Competitive soccer is for players that show an aptitude and desire to play at a more competitive level. The development of Competitive players focuses on the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological aspects of the game in a fun and competitive environment. Teams in the Competitive program are coached by experienced coaches and are selected through a tryout system, which are held in May.

The Recreational program emphasizes fun, individual and team development, and sportsmanship for the participating child. Recreational teams are coached by volunteer coaches and benefit from professional team training clinics. Recreational soccer is a game for all kids and offers fun, safe and healthy opportunities.

For the 2008 season, players have been divided into the following divisions:

• Girls U8-U9
• Boys U8-U9
• Girls U10-U12
• Boys U10-U14
• Girls U13-U16

The Micro Soccer program provides educational and developmental training for our youngest players, ages 5-6 boys and girls. The rules for micro-soccer emphasize basic skills while having lots of fun. The concept behind micro-soccer is to allow more touches on the ball by having small teams playing on small fields. VYSA is committed to keeping the Micro Soccer program a fun and learning experience for both children and their parents.
